Wheelchair-accessible car unveiled in Miami

MIAMI -- The son of a former Miami Dolphins player is unveiling a wheelchair-accessible car.
The plant that formerly made H2 Hummers has begun making cars specifically for people in wheelchairs Marc Buoniconti received one of the cars in Indiana last month. He'll unveil the car Tuesday at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami 's medical school.
Buoniconti suffered a spinal cord injury while playing college football at The Citadel. He's now president of the spinal cord injury research center.
AM General is making the MV-1 for The Vehicle Production Group based in Miami.
The vehicle starts at $39,950. It allows a person in a wheelchair to use a built-in ramp to get in alone and sit next to the driver, with room for three passengers in back.
