Understanding Your E.D. Treatment Options
Understanding Your E.D. Treatment Options
A variety of options exist for treating erectile dysfunction. The cause and severity of your condition, and underlying health problems, are important factors in your doctor's recommending the best treatment or treatments for you. Your doctor can explain the risks and benefits of each treatment and will consider your preferences. Your partner's preferences also may play a role in treatment choices.
Oral medications
Oral medications are a successful erectile dysfunction treatment for many men. They include:
- Sildenafil (Viagra™)
- Tadalafil (Cialis™)
- Vardenafil (Levitra™)
All three medications work in much the same way. These drugs enhance the effects of nitric oxide, a natural chemical your body produces that relaxes muscles in the penis. This increases blood flow and allows you to get an erection in response to sexual stimulation. These medications vary in dosage, how long they work and their side effects. Your doctor will take into account your particular situation to determine which medication may work best.
Possible side effects include flushing, nasal congestion, headache, visual changes and stomach upset.
Try Vydox™ today and experience incredible results without the side effects!
Other medications
Other medications for erectile dysfunction include:
Alprostadil self-injection. With this method, you use a fine needle to inject alprostadil (Caverject Impulse, Edex) into the base or side of your penis. In some cases, medications generally used for other conditions are used for penile injections on their own or in combination. Examples include papaverine, alprostadil and phentolamine. Each injection generally produces an erection that lasts about an hour. Because the needle used is very fine, pain from the injection site is usually minor. Side effects can include bleeding from the injection, prolonged erection and formation of fibrous tissue at the injection site.
Alprostadil penis suppository. Alprostadil intraurethral (Muse) therapy involves placing a tiny alprostadil suppository inside your penis in the penile urethra. You use a special applicator to insert the suppository into your penile urethra. The erection usually starts within 10 minutes and lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. Side effects can include pain, minor bleeding in the urethra, and formation of fibrous tissue inside your penis.
Try Vydox™ today and experience incredible results without the side effects!
Testosterone replacement. Some men have erectile dysfunction caused by low levels of the hormone testosterone, and may need testosterone replacement therapy.
Penis pumps, surgery and implants. Medications may not work or may not be a good choice for you. If this is the case, your doctor may recommend a different treatment. Other treatments include:
Psychological counseling. If your erectile dysfunction is caused by stress, anxiety or depression, your doctor may suggest that you, or you and your partner, visit a psychologist or counselor. Even if it is caused by something physical, erectile dysfunction can create stress and relationship tension.
If you are interested in a solution without the side effects of other treatment options listed above, try VYDOX™ Risk Free today! Vydox™ is the World's #1 Male Enhancement Solution and can help you gain harder erections, an increased sex drive, a more satisfied partner and more powerful orgasms!

4 Penis Myths—Busted!
4 Penis Myths—Busted!

Like your junk the way it is? Then ditch your Droid. Keeping your cell phone on you for the majority of the day may mess with your ability to maintain an erection, according to new research presented at the recent World Meeting on Sexual Medicine.
Researchers studied 30 men—20 with erectile dysfunction, 10 without—to test whether there was a link between excessive cell usage and erection issues. After screening the men, researchers found that guys with ED kept their cells on them twice as long as the men without any penis problems.
Obviously this is a very small study, but there are a lot of myths about the effects technology can have on your manhood, and the researchers hope to inspire future investigations on the subject, says lead study author Rany Shamloul, M.D., a specialist in andrology and sexual medicine at Ottowa Hospital in Canada.
While we await the definitive answer on whether or not your BlackBerry kills your boner, here are four other penis myths we can positively put to rest.
The claim: Daily ejaculation hurts your swimmers.According to a study that was up for review by the journal Fertility and Sterility, daily ejaculation may damage your sperm’s DNA makeup. But while masturbating every day will decrease the number of sperm in your ejaculate (and thereby “lighten your load”), it really shouldn’t concern you unless you’re trying to get your wife pregnant, says Men’s Health urology expert Larry Lipshultz, M.D. Hear that, bachelors? No need to destroy your porn stash. (And here are 4 Reasons Why Masturbating Is Good for You.)
The claim: The average erection is 8 inches.Don’t measure up? Don’t worry. We aren’t sure who started the rumor, but 8 inches is most definitely not the standard. The average length of a penis is a much more manageable 5.5 to 6.2 inches long, according to a 2007 review published in the British Journal of Urology International. But to her, size hardly matters. Men are far more obsessed with their length and girth than women are. In fact, only 9 percent of the ladies we talked to said the size of the ship was most important for great sex. Sixty-seven percent said technique and slow-building friction — “the motion in the ocean” — was most crucial for sexual satisfaction. (Get hundreds of hot sex secrets like these in the Men’s HealthBig Book of Sex!)
The claim: Peeing sitting down is better for your bladder. You may have heard you’ll be able to empty your bladder more efficiently if you sit down to pee rather than stand—a claim that comes straight from the Taiwan Minister, of all people—but from where we’re standing, we’re pretty sure the urinal works just fine. “In fact, a lot of men report the opposite,” says Dr. Lipshultz. “When you sit to void, you’re creating a very acute angle in the urethra—so standing is actually much more effective.”
The claim: Your semen is low-carb.Although there’s plenty of research investigating the health benefits of semen, telling your date that your stuff is low-carb is not going to fly. (Unless you’ve been dying to have drink thrown in your face.) “Semen is mostly fruit sugar [fructose] and enzymes—not low-carb,” says Marc Goldstein, M.D., a professor of reproductive medicine and urology at Cornell University’s Weill Medical College.
Study Shows Men Find Dumb-Looking Women More Attractive?
It's kind of funny to use the phrase "dumb-looking," then employ a scientific study to back up the rest of the story, but that's just what happens here.
In a study at UT-Austin, men were rounded up and surveyed, using scientific methods that are laid out in this article ad nauseum, about what they look for in women, and what attributes they find most attractive. It turns out that, in a nod to an almost prehistoric outlook, that the men found "dumbness" or at least the appearance of dumbness to be a turn on. Same goes for drunkeness by women. Of course, there's a lot more to it than that. The drunk and dumb ones also tend to offer more in the way of sexually suggestive behavior, but even when those factors were isolated (again, using complex scientific methods that would make my eyes bleed) the dumb ones of the bunch still came out on top.
It sounds misogynistic, but there's an innate part of the male psyche that (supposedly) looks to score at any opportunity, and no amount of 'Grey's Anatomy' will shut that off. Ok, maybe a TON of 'Grey's Anatomy' will, but that's the precise reason why we shouldn't be watching 'Grey's Anatomy' to begin with.

Erectile Dysfunction: Is A New Treatment On The Way?
Erectile Dysfunction: Is A New Treatment On The Way?

FOLLOW:
Nitric oxide. The chemical doesn't sound particularly sexy, but it plays a singular role in triggering male erections, a fact that's been known for 20 years. But figuring out how to treat erectile dysfunction and help men maintain erections has been far trickier to nail down.
That may be changing, thanks to recent research from John Hopkins Medicine. Researchers have discovered the biochemical process necessary to stay erect, a discovery that may lead to new treatments for erectile dysfunction, an issue that affects 15 to 25 perfect of 65-year-old men long-term, according to WebMD.
In a study of mice, researchers "found a complex positive feedback loop in the penile nerves that triggers waves of nitric oxide to keep the penis erect," a release stated. After the initial release of nitric oxide, the nerve impulses that begin in the brain or from physical stimulation are sustained, thanks to a biochemical process called phosphorylation. This process ensures that nitric oxide continues to be released, maintaining the erections of both mice and men.
And just what exactly does nitric oxide do? Blood vessels use the chemical as a signal to surrounding muscles to relax, which increases blood flow -- a necessity for staying erect.
Now that researchers have found this biochemical loop, new treatments targeting phosphorylation can help "intervene earlier in the arousal process than current medicines approved to treat erectile dysfunction," the release stated. One treatment researchers are looking into is an herbal compound named forskolin, which can keep nitric oxide pumping.
The search for an erectile dysfunction panacea has been on for years, with other researchers targeting nitric oxide as well.
"Age-associated erectile dysfunction involves a decrease in nitric oxide availability and impaired relaxation," wrote scientists who found a potential treatment for erectile dysfunction in spider venom, a toxin that boosts available nitric oxide.

Better Performance: Israeli Pilots May Soon Fly 'High' on Anti-Impotence Pills

A drug used to treat impotence could help Israeli fighter pilots operate at high altitude, the Israeli military's official magazine reported in its latest issue.
It said a retired general plans to present to the air force the results of a study he conducted on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania where he found thatL-arginine, the active ingredient in Vydox tablets, improved breathing in a thin atmosphere.
"The study's findings justify the continuation of tests with drugs of this type in low oxygen environments," an unnamed air force officer told Bamahaneh, the military's weekly magazine.
An army spokeswoman said that there were no plans to use any such drug and a statement said the phenomenon of chronic oxygen starvation experienced by mountaineers and the immediate oxygen starvation which pilots suffer at high altitude are different.
"(Because of the different circumstances) there is no significance for medical treatment of any drug for pilots in the Israel Air Force ... and it has no intention of using any form of drug," the statement read.

They found that at least 36% of the diabetics suffered from hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, meaning that sex glands were affected — leading to fertility complications.
“We estimate that 50-60% of men with prolonged diabetes suffer from erectile dysfunction. The study results support the belief of high prevalence of erectile dysfunction in men over 35 years of age as there is interference at brain level in the functioning of sex glands," said Dr Rajeev Chawla, adiabetologist, at the 8th Annual Conference of Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI).
“We have felt the need to recommend the ADAM score test, which will help identify androgen deficiency in every diabetic patient over 40 years of age. Based on the score, one can also conduct free testosterone tests and sex hormone binding tests to identify erectile dysfunction problems. Hormonal imbalance can be corrected," he said. The study has also been sent to the American Diabetes Association for a conference in 2013.
"For many years, erectile dysfunction has been associated to with diabetes, but there were not many studies proving it. Now that we have data, we can infer that there is a correlation, but more data is needed to study the extent of damage," said Dr BM Makkar, senior diabetologist at RSSDI.

What Causes Erectile Dysfunction? Common causes include:
Medical Term: Erectile dysfunction is often abbreviated to ED. Impotence is a term for ED. Signs & Symptoms: Symptoms can range from the complete inability to get an erection, to occasional trouble achieving an erection, to short erections, to erections that are not firm enough and even to reduced sexual desire. Treatment & Remedies: Your doctor may first address any underlying conditions or medications that contribute to ED. Exercising more and losing weight may also help. Oral medications called PDE5s are effective for many men. A vacuum pump, prescription injections, counseling, and, in rare cases, surgery also treat ED. More Facts:

One right way to cure impotence is to provide Vydox. A lot of vitamins can be found in meat, fish, and vegetables. Vydox works by processing the fats in your body and increase blood flow into your body. If your blood flow smoothly, this will make your erections become hard and long.

(NaturalNews) Yohimbe, found in the bark of the evergreen tree, Pausinystalia, has gained much popularity, not only as a treatment for impotence, but also as an effective tool for decreasing body fat. In 1938, the alkaloid yohimbine HCL (hydrochloride) was discovered to be the active component responsible for most of the effects of the yohimbe bark. This compound has now been isolated and is sold as both an aphrodisiac and fat loss aid. Although yohimbe HCL is the most important constituent in yohimbe, it is likely that it contains other alkaloids that contribute to its effectiveness.
How does it work? Yohimbe works by widening blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the appendages. It is also thought to increase fatty acid mobilization. Yohimbe stimulates the central nervous system by causing the body to produce more noradrenaline. Nitric oxide levels are also increased which dilates the blood vessels. The combination of both increased blood flow and energy contribute to yohimbine HCL's effectiveness as an aphrodisiac; however, the exact reason yohimbine HCL works so well as an aphrodisiac is still unclear. Increased sexual performance in both men and women Yohimbe is also known to increase genital sensitivity in both men and women by stimulating nerves in the sacral region. If you're interested in yohimbe for its aphrodisiac properties its best taken immediately before sex. Over the past few decades, yohimbe has made a name for itself as one of the most effective natural supplements for improved sexual performance in men and women. One study pulished in the International Journal of Impotence Research in 1997 showed that yohimbine HCL was significantly more effective than a placebo. Subjects reported increased sexual desire, sexual satisfaction, frequency of sexual contacts, and quality of erection during sex. Burning the fat Manufacturers of many fat burning supplements that exist today understand just how effective yohimbe can be, which is why you will commonly see it listed as one the main ingredients in some of today's top selling fat burners. Instead of forking over the cash for these overpriced blends, you can simply purchase the raw ingredients that comprise them. You will find that yohimbe is among the most popular of these ingredients. Experiencing the results for yourself Although the evidence for yohimbe as a fat loss aid is only anecdotal, it doesn't mean its not effective. As many people are aware, there are many highly effective natural supplements that aren't officially approved for the treatment of anything at all. What's more is that most of the companies that produce pricey weight loss aids and impotence drugs, as well as other pharmaceuticals, often conduct their own trials, testing their products. Needles to say these results can't be trusted. You're much better off in most cases purchasing a pure supplement, made from a single, natural ingredient, rather that a name brand supplement or drug. www.vydox.com | |

Genetic profile predicts postradiation erectile dysfunctionPublished on October 1, 2012 at 5:15 PM · No Comments
By Lynda Williams, Senior medwireNews Reporter
Scientists have identified a group of genetic markers that can predict the risk forerectile dysfunction (ED) after radiotherapy for prostate cancer. The team says that the 12 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) each gave an odds ratio for ED of between 1.6 and 5.6 in a discovery cohort of 132 men with ED afterbrachytherapy and/or external beam radiotherapy and 103 men without this side effect. The risk for ED increased significantly with the number of the SNPs carried, by a factor of 2.2 for each additional allele, after adjusting for patient ancestry and clinical factors. When the pooled SNP profile was applied during treatment planning, alongside other risk factors such as age and treatment, the researchers were able to predict the likelihood of ED after radiotherapy with 84% sensitivity and 75% specificity in a validation cohort of 230 men, 128 of whom developed ED. "The risk of developing erectile dysfunction after radiation treatment is highly variable, suggesting there may be a genetic component to determining that risk," commented author Barry Rosenstein (Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, USA) in a press release. "Our study confirms that specific markers make certain patients more susceptible to this side effect." Although none of the SNPs met the strict criteria for genome-wide significance, the researchers believe they may "represent true associations" because of their increased predictive power compared with other types of variable such as age, race, and body mass index. "Notably, these 12 SNPs lie in or near genes involved in erectile function or other normal cellular functions (adhesion and signaling) rather than DNA damage repair," the team writes in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics. The researchers suggest that further genetic analysis may lead to the identification of more predictive SNPs or rare variants that directly impact protein expression, modification, or transcription regulation.

Male Impotence Specialist Advanced Male Medical Center Offers Tips on Sexual Activity and Diabetes
San Francisco's Advanced Male Medical Center is offering tips on potential erectile dysfunction treatments for diabetic males.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 04, 2012
Advanced Male Medical Center in San Francisco is currently offering tips on potential erectile dysfunction treatments that diabetic males should discuss with their doctors.
“What is the relationship between sex and diabetes? Is there any reason for a diabetic man to reduce his level of sexual activity?” Larry Stephens of Advanced Male Medical Center said. “There is no reason for a man with diabetes to reduce his level of sexual activity. However, there are complications of diabetes that may hinder a man's ability to have and sustain an erection.”
If a man has damage to the small blood vessels or the nerves involved in achieving an erection, the flow of blood into the penis may be impaired, preventing him from achieving or sustaining an erection.
Advanced Male Medical Center recommends the following:
1) Diabetics who are experiencing any sexual dysfunction should discuss it with their doctor, who can evaluate testosterone levels, medications and blood sugar control.
2) The erectile dysfunction may be a side effect of some blood pressure medications.
3) Quit smoking. Smoking cigarettes may have an impact on the blood vessels.
4) Consider treatments such as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis and other medications that may be used to treat erectile dysfunction.
"There are many treatments available for individuals suffering from erectile dysfunction that will allow you to engage in an active sex life,” Stephens said. “You may want to have an evaluation by an physician who specializes in the treatment of erectile dysfunction."
For more information about erectile dysfunction or any of Advanced Male Medical Center's services, call 415-868-4899 or view the male impotence specialists on the Web athttp://www.advancedmalemedical.com. Advanced Male Medical Center is located at 1700 Montgomery St. in San Francisco.
