Ca. woman to be tried for cutting husband's penis

Riverside County district attorney's spokesman John Hall says after a brief hearing Friday where the victim was the only witness for either side, a judge ordered Virginia Valdez to be tried on felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse. With possible sentencing enhancements she could get nine years in prison.
Valdez has pleaded not guilty.
Palm Springs police said on Dec. 3, Valdez was touching her 62-year-old husband sexually then got up, went to the bathroom, returned with scissors and began cutting him in the groin.
He drove to the hospital, where he was given stitches and released.
